say what?
So I was watching the news today. Okay, no, not really. But I was watching Sportscenter today and they were interviewing Jose Contreras, the Yankee pitcher from Cuba. I guess his English isn't so good, so someone translated his answers. What I don't get is, whenever news shows use a translator, why don't they just have someone translate what the person is saying and then have a native English speaker read the translation. Instead, some guy is talking that I can't really understand all that well because he has a thick accent. Does it make it more believable this way? I guess.
