Sucka Free Sunday

I woke up at 7:30 this morning. Yeah, it was Sunday. Yeah, I should have the day off of work. That's what you call commitment right there. Yeah, I only stayed until right before the Bengals game started.

I went to the bar today to watch the game. I sat next to a couple of lesbians. They were cool, knew a lot about football. After sitting there for a while I realized that one of them was not actually a lesbian, but a dude. Awkward.

I ended up leaving. Not from any embarrassment on my part, but because I sat through the whole first half of the football game and my presence was never acknowledged by any of the wait staff. I kind of sat there wondering if I was invisible.

I found my way to Applebee's instead. At least there I know I won't get ignored. I had them change the channel for the big screen to the game. Some dude got mad because he was watching the Skins. Deal with it. This is the Pacific Northwest, you can't expect anything but the Hawks on TV every Sunday.

The game was a bit of a disappointment. The Bengals actually started to play a little bit of defense, but then decided to turn the ball over every chance they got. It's okay though, we are just trying to keep pace with the Chargers, them being Super Bowl contenders and all.

Later on in the evening I decided I needed to go to the casino, because I haven't given away any large amounts of money recently. I didn't get to spin the wheel on the Wheel of Fortune machine. That's always disappointing. Then I lost a hundo playing black jack which I was only playing because I was waiting for a seat in the poker room to open up, so I could lose more money there.

The worst part about the poker table was that I was sitting next to a fish that just kept getting lucky. In fact, he rivered me out of my last thirty bucks. But this kid thought he was so good, but he was really bad. He would make comments like, "I hope these jacks hold up," and everybody knew he didn't have jacks. He talked about how he went fishing but didn't catch anything when he made a straight on the river. He kept making bad moves and sucking out.

My best hand all day? A pair of nines (which I did use to double up). I didn't even get an ace-face of any kind. I had an open ended straight and flush draw after the flop that I called an all-in on, but got beat by an Ace. Are you kidding me? My last hand was a straight that got beat by runner runner heart.

So I lost another hunj playing poker. My redemption? Roulette of all things. Forty bucks and the phrase, "Let it ride" enabled me to even out for the night. I bet it all on black and should have kept going because the next number after I left was black again. It was actually the first time I've ever won at roulette. My one bright spot all day.

Now I'm ready for bed.
