First!!!
Remember what I was saying about people posting "1st" as a comment? This article here is a good example. Why people, why?
Agent 0 is awesome, just so you know. I don't follow any NBA teams. When I was little, I liked the Bulls, because of Michael Jordan (well actually it was because I liked the Cubs and the Bears, so I thought I should like the Bulls too), but they sucked and would always lose to the Pistons. So then I changed my favorite team to the Pistons, but then you know what happened after that.
Anyway, I root for players rather than teams. I like players who have been around for a long time like Shaq, Gary Payton, Kevin Garnett..., but not Kobe or Jason Kidd. But I have a tendency to dislike players when they're younger, but like them when they're older. Like I was rooting against Shaq's Magic team that went to the finals and the Glove's Sonics team that played the Bulls. I was a big John Stockton and Jeff Hornacek fan toward the end of their careers, but not the Mailman. He alone made me root for the Bulls. I like some of the young guys today. Like King James (he's amazing!) and Agent 0.
I do root against teams. I root against the Lakers, any team in the Atlantic division that isn't the Celtics, and the Sacramento Kings. And sometimes the Grizzlies.
I tend to cheer on the underdog. I was all about Golden State in the playoffs and the Cavs in the finals.
