On my way to Wal-Mart today....
I was thinking that Sherlock Holmes would probably the best poker player ever. Don't ask me why I was thinking about Sherlock Holmes on my way to Wal-Mart. But it makes sense, right? He was very good at reading people and taking the small clues in their appearance and mannerisms and turning them into facts about them, which of course always turned out to be true. Well, perhaps Moriarty could have defeated him...
Wal-Mart was crazy busy tonight. Obviously it was paycheck Friday for more than a few folks in the town of Lebanon. I was looking at SD cards, because I wanted to buy one, and some lady asked if I was finding everything ok. I said, "Yeah, I think so...." And I kind of prolonged the "oooooo", because I was going to ask her if I could buy one, but by the time I turned to face her she had walked off around the corner. And with the huge line at the 1 Hour Photo register with no worker to help, I just figured she needed to be somewhere else. So I decided just to buy some cereal. And some fried chicken.
And yes, I still believe that Wal-Mart is the evil empire. But how can I resist those low, low prices? Safeway, across the street from my apartment, sells cereal for $5 a box. It's $2-$3 at Wal-Mart.
My mom used to work at Wal-Mart. And sometimes she would take me to work with her. I would stand in electronics playing video games for hours on end. Then I would fill up a cart with a bunch of crap like fishing hats and baseball cards and she would buy it for me when she got off of work.
