Duck Hunt

Anybody out there used to play Duck Hunt as a kid? You get far enough along and it gets to the point where you have to shoot all the ducks and they're moving faster than any duck should ever move. The secret to success in this game was moving your gun right up to the screen and shooting the ducks point blank. It's always more fun to cheat. Like playing solitaire with real cards...

Speaking of Ducks going down, the Oregon Ducks, and the Pac 10 for that matter, are out of the BCS championship hunt. The Pac-10 all just killed each other. And they can't recover like the SEC can. You should hear all the whining around here. Especially about how the Ducks (or pretty much insert any Pac-10 team here) could have gone all the way if they hadn't lost their quarterback in that crucial game.

The Ducks loss also cements my title as not the worst college football prognosticator at work. The guy I said was worse than me actually wrote an article in the company newsletter proclaiming the Ducks as the next BCS champion.

So, who's it going to be in the championship game? LSU obviously. And then the winner of the Big 12 championship game. Kansas will play Missouri next week. Then the winner will play Oklahoma. The winner of that game will easily be ranked higher than West Virginia at season's end. But then again, this is the season of upsets...

This weekend's biggest game is Ohio State/Michigan. This game obviously isn't as huge as last year's #1 vs #2 thriller, but the stakes are still high, with the winner (Ohio State, of course) going to the Rose Bowl.

The game that piques my interest is on Nov 23rd when Boise State goes to Hawaii. Hawaii is still undefeated and both are in the top 20 in the BCS standings, so the winner of this game still has an outside chance of making it to a BCS game (they have to crack the top 12 and are currently #16 and #18). And let us all remember that last year's Fiesta Bowl by the Broncos was the greatest game ever.

Comments:
I totally had Duck Hunt on my Super Mario Bros Nintendo cassette. Do you remember the practice option where you are shooting those clay disks?? Haha, good memories...
