Went to the Batting Cage today
Now I have 3 sweet blisters on my hands.
Didn't make it to the driving range.
How bout that Ken Griffey Jr? Does anyone pay attention to baseball anymore? All star game is coming up. Who's rooting for the National League? Huh? Come on!
Barry Bonds is approaching Hammerin Hank. Anyone care? Ten years ago this would have been a huge deal. Ten years ago, some people still called baseball players their heroes. Not so many steroid allegations. Mark McGwire was cool. Sammy Sosa is still cool. I don't care what anybody says.
And what if Junior didn't get injured every single freaking year since he joined Cincy? Where would he be on the list?
I didn't hit any homers today. At the batting cages, if you hit into the "Homerun Ring" you get a free round. I almost chopped one in.
The Homerun Derby is still cool. Cooler than the Slam Dunk Contest. That's what I think.
The batting cage is kind of out of the way. In the middle of nowhere. And they don't sell beer.

In case you missed it, Oregon State just won their 2nd straight College World Series. People around here are kind of baseball crazy because of it. Weirdos. University of Oregon wishes they could be as cool. Ha! Take that!

I go to the batting cages on Friday. My games are on Monday or Tuesday. I'm hitting about .540, but only one extra base hit.
At 62 no one expects me to do more than lob the ball in. But whenever I can still hold back and then swivel those hips and put all that action behind a hanging slider...
