Some Dance to Remember, Some Dance to Forget

Today was the longest day of the year. Not so much long as in "Gosh, when will this day end?" but more like, "Gee, the sun is still up." I was looking at the time for sunrise. 5:27 am. Does that seem early to anyone? Like if we didn't use daylight savings, the sun would rise at 4:27am. And the sunset was at 9:01pm. It seems to me that we should have sprung forward 2 hours rather than 1.

About 8 years ago I was in Alaska in June. (Hi Janel!) Now there was a lot of sunlight. And it was hard to sleep. Like in that movie Insomnia. Which by the way was not all that great of a movie. Something about Robin Williams trying not to be funny or something.

But anyway. The sun rises kind of early here. I put a blanket over my curtains, because they were just not cutting it. It's like all bright with birds chirping and crap at 7 in the morning.

One day, when I have my villa in Mexico, the sun will shine just enough each day. I'll have just enough glorious sunshine to enjoy a day on the beach with a good book and some Pacifico. And when the sun goes down, we'll be groovin.
