emo

I've noticed that the depression bug has been going around lately. Buck up, kiddies! There are starving kids in Africa, that have AIDS and don't have daddies. Does that ever make anyone feel better? Does anyone really care about the starving kids in Africa? Sometimes I look at those Christian Aid commercials and I see people who may or may not be relatives of mine in the Philippines. Some of them look familiar. Anyway, the point is, does anyone really care about anyone besides themselves? Well, there are those close friends and family members. But really, don't we only do things for them, because it makes us feel better about ourselves? I'll give a few bucks to charity. For why? It seemed like a good idea at the time. I'm a sucker for kids and old people who don't remember stuff.

Anyway, how to deal with depression? Let it out. Share your feelings. Once upon a time I started a blog because I just needed to say stuff about my sucky ex-fiancee. That's the start of the process. You've got to look inside yourself. I believe it was my friend Mike who said, "I'm looking at the man in the mirror. I'm asking him to change his ways. And no message could have been any clearer. If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change." Change comes from within. Take some action. I believe it was my friend Nike who said, "Just do it." Change of scenery, change of career, change of significant other, change of oil. If it's the things in your life that are depressing you, get new things. Perhaps you need a little bit of me in your life. Give me a call. Let's hang out. Have a beer. Talk.

I used to have Jesus's phone number. I could find that for anyone who needs it.

To get to the point anyway, I started writing this post because I'm listening to AOL's Emo radio station. I had a friend at work explain this to me. Emo is emotional almost punkish type of music. Dashboard Confessional and what not. Right now it's Jacks Mannequin. Good stuff. The other night she explained to me the difference between emo and screamo and punk and why she listens to what she listens to. Yeah, okay. She's really into her music. Wears a different band's t-shirt everyday type of deal. She was really jealous when I went to the Warped Tour. I told her the best part was Billy Idol. She doesn't like him. He rocked. Probably the biggest show there. Billy Idol gets it. Why doesn't she get it?

I've been busy at work. I work, I sleep, then I go back to work again.
