Wild Card Weekend

It all starts in about an hour in Seattle. Why is the west coast venue playing the early game?

Seattle is a 3.5 favorite over the Skins. This opened at 4.5, so there is a lot of people placing bets on the Skins. They're the hot team. But come on. Against Seattle at home? With Todd Collins as the QB? On the other hand, here's Seattle's game plan: Don't give it to Shawn Alexander. If only I could be in Poky to watch Gregg watch the game.

Jacksonville is a favorite on the road against the Steelers. Could be because they won in Pittsburgh not more than 3 weeks ago. I have to root for the Jags, if only because they're playing against the Steelers.

Tomorrow the Giants are the underdog against Tampa Bay. Where did the Bucs come from? This is a team under the radar. The Giants showed last week they can't hold onto the lead in a big game. But they have a QB named Manning. I can't name anyone on the Bucs.

San Diego is a 10 point favorite against the Titans. I would bet on the Titans just because I think a spread shouldn't be that wide in a playoff game. But that is actually up from the open, so most people are expecting a Charger blow out. I like Vince Young though. He's a gamer.

And I can't write a football post without mentioning Monday's championship game. The LSU Tigers are 4 point favorites over THE Ohio State University Buckeyes. Everyone already knows who I'm rooting for in this one. Everyone keeps talking about how the Bucks are overmatched and that LSU will probably dominate. And the SEC is the premier college football conference. Yeah, that's why Michigan beat the Gators this week.

K, well, I'm off to the bar for some football.
