Watching Basketball
Is it wrong of me to root against USA Basketball? They were playing Mexico tonight. But I can't seem to root for Kobe Bryant or Carmelo Anthony or Chauncey Billups. These are all the NBA players I don't like.
And what's with Bill Walton reading a Frommer's Guide to whatever country the US plays each night? This is only the 2nd or 3rd game I've watched this month, but every time I tune in Bill Walton is talking about the history of whatever country. Today it was how they paved a road in Baja in 1974, how much gatorade Mexicans drink, and how Mexico ranks economically compared to other countries in the world. Just talk about the game, Bill.
Last night at the bar I was watching football and the picture was coming in kind of fuzzy. So the bartender said I should watch up on the other tv, but that tv was showing a WNBA game. I said, "I would but I'm watching a real sport over here." Then tonight while I was watching the USA play there was a commercial with all these women athletes talking about how they play sports too. I thought it was funny. But yeah, I don't watch women's sports. Well... tennis sometimes, if those freaky man-girls aren't playing. And gymnastics during the Olympics. But this guy on tv just said gymnastics is not a sport because you can't play defense.
