Brian Alone

I can't imagine anyone out there reads my blog for the intellection stimulation that it brings. It seems like there are a lot of personal blogs out there that try to be educational or inspirational, neither of which are qualities that I bring to the table. Not purposely anyway. My blog tends to be more of an update on my life than anything else. Most of you are old friends that I don't email enough (i.e. Janel). So here's the newscast for today:

Our Top Story - Brian has a puppy. Yes. Sara and I went to the pound the other day and I got myself a puppy.

Right now we're working on the whole not-pooping-on-the-floor thing with mixed results. We're also working on the not-eating-the-newspaper-on-the-floor-so-we-can-catch-the-poop thing. It's a struggle. And I'm arguing with Parker from upstairs that a whining dog does not make as much noise as a crying baby.

In other news - I have been pre-approved for an auto loan from my bank that wouldn't give me one two summers ago when I wanted to buy a new car. While my dad would say that is a sign that I'm maturing financially, I say it's more of sign that I need to get a new car.

Weather - It's freaking cold. I'm wearing long johns right now (a magnificent invention, by the way). The negative temperatures at night are not appreciated. Everyday people call in at work because their pipes have busted. I'm ready for spring.

Sports - Only two more weekends of football. I won't know what to do with myself. No more long days of drinking starting at 11am... Well, with football, that is... I'm rooting for the Patriots by the way. I would like to see Peyton Manning continue his career as the Dan Marino of his generation.

Quirky Story featuring an animal or weird kid - I'm pretty sure my whiny dog can take Parker's crying baby in a fight. That's all I have. And a squirrel on water skis.
