Bros before Hos
The other day I was walking in the mall and I overheard a couple of girls talking about a friend of theirs who got in trouble with a hot girl he was talking to because he chose to hang out with these two girls instead. The one girl says, "Shah, didn't she know it's always bros before other girls." Something to that effect anyway. It gave me a laugh.
Bros before hos, one of the pinnacle standards of guy code. You've got to know where your priorities are in life. Your friends are the ones that are always going to be there, like family. Now, if you have good friends, then there will be a certain amount of understanding when you stray in the name of relations, as long as you don't get too crazy. A girlfriend can be invited into the circle, but it takes time for her to be fully assimilated into the family. The main point being that they have to like her and vice versa. It's impossible to have a relationship where the two don't get along.
When the two do not mesh, choosing between the two is at times excruciating. You must pick your battles wisely. In the long run, though, you have to remember who's going to be there for you in the end. Are you the type of person that would forsake his friends? Is she really everything you think she is?
