I've been going to the library lately...
Not so much to read books or anything, but to meet women. So far I have met none. Unless you count the lady who gave me my library card, but she's twice my age at least. And that just isn't as cool as it was in high school.
But I decided that I needed to go to the library to meet intelligent women. Women who know how to read. I needed to expand my potential dating pool from that of crazy bar women. So far, no luck. But the plan is to take my library book to the local coffee shop and read it there. Now I'm not only reaching the literate segment of the female population, but also the coffee breath mocha soy latte cream espresso vendi segment as well.
One needless byproduct of my new activities is that I have been reading books. In fact, in the last 2 weeks I have read more books than I did in the last 2 years. And I'm not talking about the Jesus is a Sunbeam books that I used to read with Kadrie, but books with chapters and words I have to look up, like "tangentially." (Who uses the word tangentially?) They don't even have pictures. I have to use my imagination while I'm reading.
And so here I am, becoming more like my father (his man boobs are bigger than mine though). He reads books all the time. I'm even reading my books in the same chair that he used to sit in while reading books. What is this world coming to?
And I still don't like coffee...
