Sequel-mania!!
So I'm looking at Yahoo's list of hot summer movies. Almost all sequels. Almost all the 3rd installment of a series. Who decided that movies should be made in trilogies? That's not to say that any of these movies are stopping here, but did you ever notice how the goal seems to be a trilogy? Here's the list:
Spiderman 3
Shrek the Third
Pirates of the Caribbean 3
Rush Hour 3
Ocean's 13
The more than the 3rd one sequels:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Live Free and Die Hard
On its way to a 3rd sequel:
Fantastic 4
Day Watch
Not a sequel, but probably will spawn them if it does any good at the Box Office:
Transformers
I don't go to the movie theater much. I'll probably see all of these movies when they finally get to Netflix. But I'm not in a big hurry to spend $10 on a movie ticket and $20 on refreshments. Lame.
Knocked Up is a movie I'd like to see also. No huge blockbuster hype and $$$, but should be a funny little movie. I dig the comedies. It's from the same writer/director as The 40 Year Old Virgin.
