Take a Letter Maria

Dear Brian from 10 Years Ago,

First off, buy some Yahoo! stock. Let's get rich, bitch.

It's 2006 here in the future and yeah, there are no flying cars. I know, I know...what's up with that?

Anyway, how's it going? School's starting up for you. Your senior year. Enjoy it. It's going to be good times. Say what's up to the old mates for me. Most of them you'll never see again after you get on that plane the day after graduation. Doesn't seem likely, does it? You guys are tight, but you all have to go your separate ways. In time, you'll get to know who your good friends are.

Senior year is going to be a blur. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll meet that weird girl from Lajes that does that thing with her mouth. You'll think it's the best time of your life.

College will fly by. All 6 years of it. I recommend some math, computer, or business classes. The easy, interesting crap isn't going to get you anywhere. And go to college some place that's interesting... a party school. Don't play it safe. It's all about socializing and networking. You can get a piece of paper that says you're educated anywhere.

After college, you'll hang out, do this, do that. Before you know it, 10 years have passed since your last year of high school. Then you'll sit and reminisce and wish you could give your 17 year old some advice. But nah, don't worry too much. Life is good.
